Rotana Hotels Fight against Alzheimer’s Disease

Rotana Area Vice President for Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, Turkey, Congo and Syria and General Manager for Gefinor Rotana Beirut Joseph Coubat commented on this participation, saying: “I am extremely pleased with participating – for the second time since my return to Lebanon – in this activity, which emphasizes Rotana For the 8th consecutive year, Gefinor Rotana and Raouché Arjaan by Rotana staff took part in the Beirut Marathon. About 45 staff members from various departments within the two hotels ran on November 12 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon, which strives to improve the standards of living of Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers.

The participants lined up in the morning to take part in the race, which went on until noon and met afterwards for a tasty Hotels’ commitment to social responsibility and their unwavering support for key causes in society. It gives me great pride to be cooperating this time with the Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon and I hope that our support helps to raise awareness regarding this disease in Lebanon and the world”.

Speaking in his capacity as president and representative of the Alzheimer’s Association Lebanon, Dr. Georges Karam said: “We are pleased and grateful to Rotana Hotels for running in support of our cause in the Beirut Marathon in order to raise awareness regarding Alzheimer’s disease, which – according to studies – affects about 30,000 patients in Lebanon. The main purpose of the association is to reach more families to help improve the life quality of patients and their caregivers, to raise awareness regarding this disease and to break all relevant taboos”.

The day ended on an enthusiastic note, as everyone was pleased to be running in support of this wonderful cause.
